TUX reflects on the one-dimensional gay caricatures in the early 90s (from creepy dude to flamboyant man to the GBF) and how difficult this made navigating identity in a small town as a teen with few allies. Thankfully by the late 90s gay media created by and for gay people debuted starting the wave of real onscreen representation we so desperately needed.
