I Am A Man: Episode 46 (The Memphis Sanitation Workers’ Strike)

In this episode we are drinking a bright cooler called the Sea Breeze. This cocktail came about through marketing efforts from Big Vodka and Ocean Spray and was popularized in late 1960s, the era of STEPHANIE scandal! Cheers to David–our latest Patreon supporter!

STEPHANIE’s scandal is the Memphis Sanitation Strike of 1968, the event that would get Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. assassinated as he was on the eve of bringing together poor workers of all races to advocate for economic justice. We raise our glasses to collective action and reject the notion of an individualized working class since we cannot make systemic change one person at a time!
